A classic Nebbiolo in every way. Soft, bricky tone. Aromas of red fruits with a hint of leather. Pure strawberry fruit, rather elegant, and with supple tannins. Builds beautifully on the palate with expansive Nebbiolo aromatics. Plenty of fine-grained structure to keep this going.
Named after large ravines which score the Roero hills (Roero lying just across the river Tanaro from Barbaresco). Roero Riserva must be aged for a total of 32 months before release, including a minimum of six months in barrel (here about 30% new, 70% old).
