Quinta do Infantado, Douro Tinto, 2020

This wine is deep ruby in colour with violet hues, with intense aromas of raspberries, ripe plums, blueberries and cloves. Medium bodied on the palate with smooth, ripe tannins, juicy black fruit flavours and a long, succulent finish.

The grapes were partially destemmed before being trodden by foot in traditional lagares, a hallmark of the Quinta do Infantado wines. Malolactic fermentation took place in tank, after which a proportion of the wine was aged in oak barrels of various sizes and ages. The remainder was kept in stainless-steel tanks before the final blend was assembled and bottled on 22nd and 23rd July 2020, unfined and unfiltered.

All the Quinta do Infantado vineyards are class 'A' and represent the best that the Douro Valley has to offer. The grapes for the Douro Red are grown in the Cima Corgo vineyards of Vale de Moinhos, Serra Douro and Serra de Cotas which are situated at 280, 350 and 300 metres above sea level and cover ten hectares in total.
