Crushed & Cured
Domaine des Chazelles Viré-Clessé Vielles Vignes 2020
From a two hectare sheltered plot on limestone, with vines between 50 and 100 years old including 30% of Chardonnay Musqué, a clone found in the Mâconnais responsible for its inimitable aromatic style. 70% in stainless steel, 30% in old barrels. Honeyed nose, with citrus fruit, showing good concentration and a juicy freshness
Viré Classé is a privileged location in the Macon that enjoys a fantastic exposure to the sun on a slight slope. This yields wines that have an added weight and complexity compared to your run-of-the-mill Macon-Villages. At Chazelles, organic vines with over 50 years of age broadcast dense flavours of golden apple and stone fruit with an invigorating touch of acid.
