Macabeo is the same grape as Viura, the principal ingredient in most white Rioja. Scent of marzipan and stone fruit; excitingly ripe and weighty mid-palate of white peach and green grapes, and a dry and lightly savoury finish
Harvested at night, first week of September, gently pressed, the free run juice is fermented in new oak barrels. The wine was left on fine lees for five weeks with daily stirring or “batonages” being made.
