Crushed and Cured
Ros, Navarra Rosado
This wine is a brilliant light pink in colour. The nose is rich with aromas of wild red fruits, strawberry, rose petals and peach. On the palate, it is fresh and vibrant with a long, dry finish.
Rós’ is a winemaking collaboration between two great friends: Irish Master of Wine Lynne Coyle and Spanish Winemaker Alicia Eyaralar in Navarra. The sustainably farmed site is in Navarra’s Yerri Valley, near Pamplona. ‘Rós’, which is Gaelic for ‘rose’.
This wine is produced in the traditional Navarra way called 'sangrado'. The must was racked after three hours of pre-ferment cold maceration at 8ºC. Fermentation took place, with indigenous yeasts, in concrete vats for 32 days at temperatures of 15-16ºC. After fermentation, the wine was kept on its fine lees for four months in underground concrete tanks, with regular stirring to add volume and texture to the wine.
